  • 1 cup fresh blueberries Frozen blueberries can be used without thawing.
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Philadelphia cream cheese is recommended.
  • 4 large eggs Free-range eggs are preferable.
  • 1 cup milk Semi-skimmed or full-fat milk can be used.
  • 1/2 cup sugar Add more if you prefer it sweeter.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Add more if desired.
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon A personal touch from my grandmother.
  • to taste n/a powdered sugar for dusting For presentation.

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). This step is crucial for a non-soggy casserole.
  2. Cut the croissants into quarters and place them in a greased baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the blueberries over the croissants. Reserve some for garnish.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, cream cheese, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until fully blended.
  5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissants and blueberries, pressing them down gently to soak.
Baking
  1. Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes to enhance the flavor, then bake for 30-35 minutes until golden and fluffy.
