  • 1 medium onion, diced Yellow onions are sweeter when sautéed.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Add 5 cloves if you want more flavor.
  • 1 medium carrot, finely grated A sneaky way to add veggies for kids.
  • 1 medium bell pepper, chopped Red bell pepper adds color and flavor.
  • 400 g canned chopped tomatoes Opt for a budget-friendly brand.
  • 1 tsp cumin Adds depth of flavor.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Season according to personal preference.
  • Fresh parsley for garnish Optional, but nice for presentation.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add a splash of olive oil.
  2. Sauté the onion and garlic until the onion is translucent, infusing the oil with flavor.
Cooking the Turkey
  1. Add the ground turkey to the pan, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  2. Cook until the turkey is golden brown.
Adding Vegetables
  1. Stir in the grated carrot and chopped bell pepper, allowing them to combine with the turkey.
Adding Tomatoes
  1. Pour in the canned chopped tomatoes, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
Seasoning
  1. Sprinkle in the cumin, salt, and pepper, and let everything simmer while stirring occasionally.
