Preparation
- Start by placing your ground beef in a bowl. Sprinkle in a generous pinch of salt and a few cracks of black pepper.
- Preheat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add your seasoned beef, then smash it down with your spatula to create burger patty shapes.
- After about 5 minutes on one side, flip the patties and let them crisp up.
- In a bowl, start layering your shredded lettuce, smashed burger, tomatoes, pickles, and cheese. Drizzle with your favourite sauce.

Notes
If you burn the bottom, scrape off the black bits and call it ‘char-grilled.’ Substitute with any ground meat if out of lean meat. Order takeout if all fails!
